MY FATHER’S STORY
Our story begins in 1984, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where my father opened his first company,
The Green Crystal. From the beginning, he approached jewellery with intention — choosing
stones carefully, crafting with precision, and treating every client with honesty.
Between 1984 and 2004, he built several successful businesses specializing in:
• Custom fine jewellery
• Diamonds and coloured gemstones
• Luxury watches
• Bespoke design for clients who valued excellence
He completed his GIA education between 1994–1997, becoming one of the region’s respected experts.
His reputation grew not because of marketing, but because of integrity — and the quality of the pieces he created. His clientele eventually included members of the Saudi royal family and families across the region who trusted his eye and his word.
Then, in 2004, everything changed.
Our family faced a sudden hardship, and my father lost the business he had spent two decades building.
Yet even then, he never lost his passion.
He moved to Canada with nothing but experience, faith, and the determination to rebuild. In 2013, he founded Canadian Expert Jewellery, originally as a consulting and appraisal firm — a way to help people make informed, confident jewellery decisions.
Through trust, transparency, and genuine care, CEJ slowly grew into the custom studio we are today.
MY STORY — CARRYING THE LEGACY FORWARD
I grew up surrounded by jewellery — sketches, gemstones, stories, clients who trusted my father,
and the quiet pride he took in his work.
Jewellery wasn’t an industry I entered by chance; it was part of who I was becoming.
From him, I learned:

• A diamond is chosen with the eye, not the trend
• A piece of jewellery carries emotion far beyond its materials
• And the jeweller’s role is to protect the client, not persuade them
I took these principles and blended them with my own modern approach — a focus on education,
design, proportion, and creating an experience that feels personal and effortless.
